Rights Jessore is a leading human rights organisation in Bangladesh dedicated to protection and promotion of human rights, prevention the human trafficking and providing service to the victims of human trafficking ensuring the support of victim rescue, repatriation, reintegration and rehabilitation. Rights Jessore is working in the south-western region of Bangladesh since 1991.


Through forum formation, capacity building, networking and documentations of violations the Rights Jessore created enable environment of prevention, protection and prosecution the victims of trafficking. Rights Jessore has a General Council comprising of 31 members and a nine member Executive Committee formed by the General Council. This Executive Committee is working as the policy making body of the organization.


At present, Rights Jessore works primarily in the eight south-western districts of Bangladesh namely Jessore, Jhenaidah, Satkhira, Magura, Narail, Chuadanga, Meherpur and Kushtia. The main target groups are women and children. In addition Rights Jessore is working with NGO leaders and workers, teachers, students, lawyers, journalists and health professionals, law enforcing agencies, locally elected bodies, local leaders, women activists and local administration at district, upazila and union level. 


Rights Jessore has initiated the “Manab Pachar Protirodh Network” consisting at present of 483 local NGOs who are working with Rights Jessore to prevent human trafficking. 


The basic aim of the organization is the formation of local forum and networks against illegal migration and trafficking of women and children. Rights Jessore has so far established Lawyers Forum, Doctors Forum, Women Forum and Youth Forum. Formation of Teachers and Cultural Activists’ Forum is under process. These forums are playing a key role in the movement against trafficking and illegal migration.  


In order to create mass awareness and disseminate information about human rights violations issues, Rights Jessore publishes newsletters, posters, leaflets and stickers. Rights Jessore also keeps regular records of information about trafficking and illegal migration and prepares statistical reports for local and national dailies.
