Project Background
Rights Jessore is a leading human rights organization in Bangladesh dedicated to protection and promotion of human rights, prevention of human trafficking and providing service to the victims of human trafficking. Since 1991, Rights Jessore has been working for providing supports to victim rescue, repatriation, reintegration and rehabilitation.
Rights Jessore is implementing “Providing Comprehensive Reintegration Support to Victims of Trafficking (VoTs) and to Conduct Community-Level Awareness Raising Campaign on Safe Migration in Jashore and Satkhira Districts of Bangladesh” a thirty months duration project. The project is funded by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) through partnership with Rights Jessore in Jashore and Satkhira districts in Bangladesh under IOM project “A Comprehensive Counter Trafficking Program to Address Human Trafficking in Bangladesh.”. The project goal is to provide comprehensive reintegration support to victims of trafficking (VoTs) and to conduct community-level awareness raising campaign on safe migration in Jashore & Satkhira districts of Bangladesh. It is a victim-cantered prevention and protection services for the selected victims of trafficking (VoTs) in line with IOM’s reintegration guidelines. Rights Jessore established a desk for referral services for Victims of Trafficking (VoTs) at the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal/Anti-Trafficking Special Tribunal in each project district. In this regard, Rights Jessore invites application from suitable candidate as psychosocial counsellor (female) for Jashore office, below specific job description of the position;
Position Summary of Project Counsellor
Rights Jessore will recruit one counsellor for Jashore district, and the main responsibilities will be providing counselling service to vulnerable victims of trafficking and migration and provide comprehensive reintegration support to 400 victims in two districts. Major Job Description / Responsibility | Project Counsellor will be full time position of this project and work in the project locations. Project Counsellor will be responsible for providing psychosocial counseling services to VoTs at union level through door-to-door visit while maintained rules and regulation of psychosocial counselling. Project Counsellor will be responsible for providing comprehensive reintegration support (medical, shelter, life-skill training and as per project proposal) to VoTs as per project proposal at two project districts. Project Counsellor will be involved to identify project beneficiaries as like other project staff according to the guideline of IOM beneficiaries’ selection. The position will be responsible for conducting need assessment of selected project beneficiaries along with other project staff.The position will also be responsible for assisting other project staff to provide business support to the most vulnerable VoTs of the project.The position will prepare monthly work plan and will provide monthly progress report to the Program Manager as per routine work.The position will keep record about counselling and reintegration service and assisting Monitoring Officer for completing project data sheet.The position will also conduct liaison with project related stakeholders and government institutions and upazila and district level administration for VoTs reintegration activities smoothly. Counsellor will also assist to other project staff for organizing and conducting community level awareness session with community people. Project Counsellor will maintain liaison with Desk Officer for providing counselling service of identified beneficiaries and also assist for getting legal service as required. Develop and prepare different kinds of quality documents like stories, best practices and positive changes in beneficiaries lives etc.Attend various internal and external meeting, seminar, and workshops that relevant to the projectPerform any other related duties or responsibilities that may be assigned by the organization or donor agency. |

Experience Requirements | Must have at least 3 years of similar experience in counselling service for trafficking and migration victims.Professional work experience in reintegration support and management of human trafficking survivors and its reporting.Experience in Human Trafficking project will be added value for this position. Good skill in documentation and report writing in English. Working knowledge of MS Office applications and Power Point |
